2B Continued...

Hello ~ Welcome to my daily journal... ok let's face it, there's a strong possibility that i will not be jotting on a daily basis, none the less this is an account of my daily happenings, experiences and encounters.  Most likely primarily for my own recollection and amusement... maybe... just maybe... you'll enjoy it and relate in ways as we live and learn our way thru this insanely dynamic existence we call life.  Please feel free to comment because that's one of the best parts of life... social interaction, feedback, encouragement and constructive criticism. Grammar, punctuation and sentence structure ended at 5pm... this is free thought and free expression hour most likely between 10-12 pm and accompanied by a glass of wine so... My grandmother is an extremely wise woman... she might have been off a tad bit with the "sticks and stones..." solution... but she was dead on with the "If you can't say anything nice..." mantra.  That applies here... thank you ;)

Remember to always keep hope alive in your heart, in your children and in your family. There's always tomorrow to start fresh.  No day is ever really over, its just... 2B Continued...

Aaahhh SPRING!
I am so spoiled by this beautiful weather!  It's like I can feel my body coming alive again after the "hibernation" period!  You know that feeling when you start to get inspired to do things like...
Getting out your paints and a clean white canvas and you just know a MONET is at the tip of your fingers...
or...
Reading under that big oak in the backyard (even if you don't actually HAVE that big oak... or a backyard;)...
or...
Gaining a new resolution to do something fun with the kids EVERYDAY... knowing that's totally unrealistic...
or...
Well of course getting "back" into a jogging routine...
But YES it feels so good like the world has been "closed" for months now and its finally "Open for business"!
I am however a tad bit sad to put away my suede boots and beautiful scarves.  My collection of scarves has become like a security blanket to me this winter! Love, love, LOVE them.  My mom has an excellent eye for a beautiful scarf and has certainly contributed to my collection a good bit.  But I have to brag on my lil girl... for valentines day she gave me the most beautiful emerald green knitted scrunchy scarf that she picked out and bought with her own money! I will look forward to getting it back out next year.
BUT for now we say a bitter sweet goodbye to winter and welcome Spring with open arms.
Enjoy!

Football, Holidays, Festivals...
What could be better?!?!

Doesn't it seem like this time of year the air is just a little more "alive"?? Everything seems crisp and fresh... it's like you can feel something exciting waiting for you right around the corner!  I find myself waking up a little earlier so that I can make fresh muffins for the kids breakfast before they head to the bus stop. I've already done two loads of laundry and its not even 10am yet! I treated myself to a fresh brewed cup of Starbux caramel coffee with ALOT of cream and a dab of sugar... and sat on the couch with a couple mini muffins and watched Good Morning America.  The inspirational stories are a great way to start the day.  I try to avoid the evening news because it just seems like it's all negative these days.
Let's see what's on my "To Do" list today... #1 CLEAN!  #2 Clean out kids closets and get ready for fall clothes #3 Make a "Goal Poster" for me and the kids!
What's a Goal Poster?? It's a poster with a set of personal goals that you want to see yourself meet within a certain time frame.  It can me a couple weeks or a couple years... you can work at your pace with the things you want to do for yourself or others! Yes I will be blogging about it ;)
Well, I hope that your day is beautiful, successful, and peaceful... God Bless us all this wonderful day you've made, Amen!

Is it just your Profession
or
Is it your Passion

I can't believe it's been 4 days since i jotted... i knew eventually the days would get away from me.  Well, today was productive in the sense that I met some new people through networking and promotions, caught up with an old work buddy from years past whom i haven't seen since 2003 to talk about work potential, enjoyed about an hour of chatting with my mother... we met in Hayden to exchange some items and catch up a bit (always encouraging;), hung out with the kitties at Cat Haven for a minute and then dropped in at Sparkbox Cowork downtown before I had to pick up the kids from school!  So all in all it was a good day.  As I was driving back from Hayden toward Bham, I was chatting with a new acquaintance and from the earlier conversation with my old work buddy to this conversation with a potential new work buddy...a profound thought formulated and was born.  Maybe not for the first time in history but definitely for the first time, it was real to me... "The ideal situation is that your job IS your passion,  but the next best thing is that your job facilitates your passion until the day that your passion IS your job."  I'm learning from my past, working hard in my present and I'm hopeful for my future...

Football Madness!

Oh man, whose excited to see football back on the television?!?!  The drive, the fierce competition, the conditioned bodies pushing the athletic limits every game!! I'm pumped!!  Although I will inevitably loose touch with the rest of the world and current events because football will be on our screen all evening, every evening and weekends... no news, no season premiers... just college football, pro football and ESPN football highlights and recaps.  If I want to maintain a relationship with my husband then I will conform to this new temporary schedule.  Don't get me wrong... I love football (mostly Auburn football... WAR EAGLE!) just as much as the next girl... but I'm trying to relax, write my entry for the day and get ready for a new week tomorrow, but not without, "hey becca, look at this play... wooop!" wooop= the sound that it makes a player fakes another player and goes in for the TD)
I think its so cute how his eyes light up and he wants me to be a part of it with him. So, because he loves it... I learned to love it 2 years ago.  I just don't need to see EVERY play and REPLAY of EVERY game!  But I don't want him to stop asking me to "look" either... so I turn to watch the replay... and I say, "whoa, that was awesom!" or "dang, did you see that scoop??" or "I love how #15 can fake and touchdown everytime" or "how the HECK did they get to 4th and long... COME ON!"... He thinks I'm cute, we have a moment, I can go back to writing and life is good;)

Aaaahhh... Football season... Isn't it great!...

Aug. 13 (Friday)
Freaky Friday?
Yup...Friday 13th!  Did anything creepy or "unlucky" happen to anyone today?  Thankfully my day was pretty normal with a few pleasant highlights.  Delivered some MK to Blountsville / Arab area...Received some VERY much needed encouragement and support from my parents... got a massage at Aura Salon Spa on 280...Met up with a very talented local and tossed around ideas and what's "hot in the city" topics... and then went to see with new "Karate Kid" movie, staring Jaden Smith, with my fam!... GREAT Movie.  Ya know, if you don't already keep a journal of your days... let me encourage you to start one.  You'll realize that life is... Good...

Received a very profound word today... " wake up every day and YOU determine what your day will be like before you even get out of bed... Don't wait for someone to make that decision for you."  You have a voice and a purpose... How are you going to use it?...

Today was productive!  Met a few more talented and interesting people that makes Birmingham THAT much better.

Flower Stems is a such a neat little hidden gem.  From the street and the storefront facade you would never know that it could house so much character and intrigue within.  Beautifully rustic romantic details at every turn.  The spiral staircase takes you to a open versatile space full of potential for any event type and theme you may be thinking about.  Hopefully this could be a potential location for the 4 Love launch in October...*fingers crossed*

Met with EatBHM today at Urban Standard for a delicious prosciutto sandwich and orzo salad... yum!  Lots of things going on with EatBHM so be sure to look for upcoming events with them including the Halloween Party that is going to be a BIG hit!  Big costumes, Big Prizes and Big Fun!!

Had the pleasure of talking about big plans with Rogue Management, Talent and Modeling Agency, and where they want to go with the buzz!  "Flashy... lights, lights, lights..."

BTW... I'm going to love being able to pick the kids up everyday from school! No more after-school care... no more missed field trips and parent's days...It's truly a blessing. I am so thankful to have this opportunity...

Well last night I had a MK party and then went out with a couple girlfriends in H'ville!  Hadn't been there in years really... so they took me to a couple places downtown... and a couple drinks turned into 5am. ooops...on a Tuesday night, i mean seriously??

Today was the kids first day back to school.  They liked it and it sounds like they will have some GREAT teachers!  Dustin said he got an A in the class and gave me a treat that he picked from the treasure box;)  Holli, the animal lover, is excited about the class pets... frogs and butterflies!  Off to a good start, and I'm so looking forward to getting back into a routine...
